Readers

Readers are -in our terminology- dumb interface devices providing the intelligence of the transport and protcol layer only.

A reader has no intelligence (like taking decisions or programing data) by definition.

This applies to all PC/SC readers for ISO7816 or ISO14443 type A/B. The PC/SC specification can be downloaded here: http://www.pcscworkgroup.com/specifications/specdownload.php

Readers with serial or USB interface without PC/SC driver (e.g. designed for integration into non PC based terminals) are not standardízed.
